WORCESTER— After suffering its first loss of the season last week, the New England Surge got back to its winning ways with a 46-24 win over Chesapeake last night in front of an announced crowd of 2,124 fans DCU Center.

“It was nice to get back on the winning trail,” New England owner and head coach Roy Lucas Jr. said. “The first half especially we just were in sync on offense, defense and special teams.”

The Surge (6-1) got a pair of special team touchdowns from former South High and Northeastern University standout Bismark Osei, while quarterback Shawn Brady completed 9 of 18 passes for 95 yards and three touchdowns to three different receivers.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Shawn Brady hit Cy Butler for a 34-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, but it was all downhill from there for New England in a rematch of last year's CIFL Atlantic Conference final as the Raiders shellacked the Surge, 62-20.

It was the first defeat for the Surge (5-1), who are 0-4 all-time against Rochester.

The Raiders (7-0) answered the opening score with three straight touchdowns to take a 20-6 lead. Eric Boatwright scored on a 1-yard run to cut the lead to 20-12, and Brady scored on an 11-yard scramble with under a minute to go in the half to cut the lead to 34-20.
